What are you afraid of? Yesterday, I watched a vlog on YouTube. At one point, the young man shows a table filled with different camera equipment. The title of the video blog is “This Equipment Terrifies Me.
I know of the young man and BDoubleO is no amateur in the area of video editing. The quality of his videos are quite good. Then what is he talking about?
Am I talking about John’s gaming channel? No. John has a live channel that is used for video blogging. It’s called BDoubleOLive. John and his wife regularly share snippets of their lives with the audience. It’s all in good taste and fun.
As per his usual style, John tries to encourage the viewers in certain areas of their lives. The title of this video is “This Equipment Terrifies Me“. He’s talking about overcoming personal fears.
As John is talking, I can just hear a certain voice asking, “What are you afraid of?” Continue reading “What Are You Afraid of?”
Did you ever listen to something that stirs a strong emotional chord? On Monday, I was listening to Pastor Paul Booko of Riverside Church. The church is located in Three Rivers, Michigan. It’s Father’s Day and Paul is giving an encouraging message about being a father.
I would have politely listened and I wouldn’t have given it, much thought. Why should I? I’m not a father or spiritual father. Before I continue, here is a link to “Dad’s Fest“. It’s the message that I listened to on the Internet.
What happened? Why am I writing a story about fathers, the day after Father’s Day? The story starts when pastor Paul Booko mentions the father wound, at the beginning of his message. As I listen, a strong wave of painful emotions began rising inside me. Continue reading “Overcoming My Father Wounds”
When I created a video called “The Emperor’s New Clothes: After the Parade“, I felt a need to share my own personal story. I could identify with the Emperor’s staff. As a kid, I struggled with a fear of negative criticism. For me, it seems all criticisms were the same–DESTRUCTIVE. It was so intense, I feared going through my first work evaluation.
If my friends are reading this article, they’d be surprised. To them, I’m very open and receptive, these days. How did this happen? How did I overcome my fear of criticisms? Continue reading “Dealing With Negativity – Overcoming A Fear of Criticism”
A friend once said, “It seems like you’re not living within the reality of your disabilities.” I was quite surprised by this comment. As I listen, an old cartoon character came drifting to the surface. It was Mr. Magoo. Continue reading “Life Without Limitations!”
