Dealing With Changes

A week ago, Shore Vineyard held a discussion called “How to Thrive in the Upcoming Financial Crisis”. The discussion centers on a book called “The Mystery of the Shemitah It’s a book written by Jonathan Cahn. I saw the video based on this book and it’s pretty good.

If you took the time and listened to the audio, then you will discover that we did more than talk about the book. We talked about solutions and a willingness to listen to God’s Word. I’ll give you, a hint. We did not talk about owning gold; as not everyone can afford it.

I am one of those people, who can’t afford to buy gold. What about me? How should I prepare for something, that may or may not happen? A wise man sees the upcoming trouble and takes prudent steps; so that he is not reacting to fear.

As the discussion continues, I quietly asked Jesus and myself, “What should I do? How do I prepare for potential changes?” One thing certain, our country is definitely in a financial mess. You simply need to turn on Fox News or CNN. What’s next?

How should I deal with the financial crisis? As I considered this question, some pictures formed in my mind. The image centered on my blog site and an emerging YouTube channel. It was the word, “Donation”.

A couple of weeks ago, WordPress.com came out with a new blog theme called Collinear. It is an updated version of the theme that I’ve used. There is one key difference; it’s supposed to work better with mobile devices.

I would sincerely appreciate some feedback, on the new theme. On my iPhone 6+, the site looked good and I can see the new dropdown menu. I’m referring to the box in the right hand corner. If you’re on a desktop, then you’ll likely not see it.

I’ve also made one extra change. For me, Inspiration Point is an act of service to the Christian community and those, who may be seeking. My goal has always been to provide encouraging stories of overcoming adversities.

Though the articles may vary, I always return to that one central theme. There is a second theme and it’s sharing the love of God, the Father and Jesus. It would be a strange site, if I did not include God in some way or other.

WordPress.com is free; however, there are some costs. For one, I have to pay $15 per year to renew my domain name. Thankfully, my overhead costs are low; so I am not hurting. Here are some other potential costs.

If I want a better looking theme, then I’d have to pay for it. If I want to embed an audio file, then I need to buy their Premium package and it’s a yearly cost. Of course, there are some workarounds.

As for the articles, they are free and they will remain free. Inspiration Point can never work, as a paid magazine site. However, I can include text only links to books, movies and DVDs on Amazon. On WordPress.com, I am limited to text links; hence you may have missed the link to Jonathan’s book.

Inspiration Point is not a charity or a non profit organization; hence the use of the word, “Tip Jar”.  Though it’s not necessary, it is greatly appreciated. Please let me know, how I can the “Tip Jar” section located on the sidebar?

Didn’t you mention, a YouTube channel? Yes, it’s a work in progress. I’ve only posted three videos. I’m currently using my iPhone to shoot the video and edit it with iMovie.  The link is in the Social section of the sidebar. I am experimenting with Filmora and I may look into Sony’s Movie Studio.

What? Did you think that I was going to peddle “Buy Gold!” No. Though gold is a good investment; however, there is one problem. Can you afford it? There are many people, who can’t afford such a thing. There is another option.

It’s called “Be Creative & Hard Work!” For me, it meant working harder on the blog and creating YouTube videos. It seems people are more apt to watch videos on YouTube than read. Why not both?

Hopefully, you can see the reason, for the above set of paragraphs. If I’m not willing to make changes to my own behaviors, then I am going to have problems and suffer for my own stupidity.

In the long run, these changes will pay off; even if there is no financial crisis. Is it not wiser to prepare and discover there isn’t financial crisis? Does this mean I should hoard my food, wealth and etc..?

No, I would look like a complete idiot. Since I came into this world, with nothing. I will leave this world and I’ll have nothing.  For my earthly wealth would worthless in the Kingdom of Heaven. Do I need to tell you, the value of gold in the other place?

If you listen to the audio mentioned in the first paragraphs, then you may some good advice from my various friends. In the end, there is one person that you can definitely call on.

Yes, I am talking about Jesus.
